YAL Titles on the Horizon

If you're like me, then you have a persistent feeling of low-key guilt that there are so many works of young adult literature that have been recommended for reading but that you haven't read yet (yet!).

Well, either get crackin' or else get ready to double down on the guilt because new titles are on their way! Check these out:

  • Entertainment Weekly recommends Internment (2019) by Samira Ahmed, author of Love, Hate, and Other Filters (2018). Internment portrays a not-too-distant future in which the United States has established internment camps for Muslim Americans. Click the "Entertainment Weekly" link to read an excerpt.
  • Penguin Teen offers a preview of titles set for release in 2019. Among the bunch are books by Laurie Halse Anderson (author of The Impossible Knife of Memory [2014] and Speak [1999]) and A.S. King (author of Still Life with Tornado [2016] and Please Ignore Vera Dietz [2010]).
  • HarperCollins offers a similar preview of titles being released this upcoming winter. Among the authors are Ibi Zoboi (American Street [2017]), Angie Thomas (The Hate U Give [2017]), R.L Stine (the Goosebumps series), and Mindy McGinnis (The Female of the Species [2016]).
Happy reading!
